Edo: Philip Shaibu Sues Ighodalo, Asks Court To Nullify PDP Primary Election

Edo Deputy Governor, Philip Shaibu, has taken legal action against Asue Ighodalo, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) over the party’s primary election.

Shaibu seeks an order from the court to nullify the exercise held at Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin, where Asue Ighodalo emerged as the Governorship Candidate of the PDP.

Shaibu’s legal challenge signifies his dissatisfaction with the outcome of the primary election and his belief that irregularities or violations occurred during the process. By seeking a court order to nullify the exercise, he aims to challenge the legitimacy of Ighodalo’s candidacy and potentially pave the way for a rerun or alternative resolution.

The lawsuit signals Shaibu’s commitment to upholding the integrity of the electoral process and ensuring fairness within the PDP’s internal procedures. It also reflects his determination to pursue legal avenues to address grievances and seek redress for perceived injustices.
