Edo: Gov Okpebholo Swears-in New Attorney General

Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo has sworn in Barr. Musa Ikhilor as Secretary to the State Government (SSG) and Hon. Samson Osagie as the State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice.

According to a statement by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Fred Itua, the swearing-in ceremony took place 24 hours after the officials assumed office. The Attorney-General had been screened and confirmed by the State House of Assembly on Wednesday.

While swearing in the new appointees, the Governor urged them to support his vision for the state and prioritize the people’s interests.

“I was voted to work, and everybody should be ready to work. I carefully selected these appointees. They’ve a proven integrity. Work with them so that we can do the best we should do,” he said. “During my campaigns, I promised to work the best, and that’s what we have done with these appointments. Our best is yet to come.”

In response, the new SSG, Ikhilor, committed to helping the Governor fulfill his campaign promises by driving meaningful change and development in Edo State.

Hon. Samson Osagie, the new Attorney-General, also pledged to work toward the Governor’s agenda, assuring that he would protect the rights of Edo citizens.
