The Nigerian Law School has witnessed a historic leadership transition with the formal handing-over ceremony marking the assumption of office of Dr. Olugbemisola Titilayo Odusote as the 10th Director-General of the institution. The ceremony, which was attended by key stakeholders in the legal education sector, officially signaled the end of the tenure of her predecessor, Prof. Isa Hayatu Chiroma, SAN.

Dr. Odusote’s appointment is particularly significant as she becomes the first female Director-General in the history of the Nigerian Law School, a milestone widely described as a major step toward gender inclusion and progressive leadership within Nigeria’s legal education system. In her new role, she takes over from Prof. Chiroma, SAN, under whose leadership the institution recorded notable developments in academic standards and administrative reforms.

The handing-over event underscored continuity and institutional stability, with commendations offered to Prof. Chiroma, SAN, for his service and contributions to the growth of the Law School. Stakeholders expressed optimism that Dr. Odusote’s leadership would build on existing achievements while ushering in a new era of innovation, excellence, and reform in the training of future legal practitioners in Nigeria.
