Digital Billboard is Cheaper, Ezekwesili Speaks on ‘All Eyes on Judiciary’ Removal

Obiageli Ezekwesili, a former minister, responded to the government’s decision to take down “All Eyes on the Judiciary” billboards across the country.

In a statement on her social media page on Wednesday, Ezekwesili argued that the Nigerian judiciary is legally required to provide citizens with complete judicial independence, transparency, and honesty.

The billboard was criticized as being insensitive in a statement released on Tuesday by Dr. Olalekan Fadolepo, Director-General of the Nigerian Advertising Regulatory Council.

Ezekwesili, who posted on social media, asserted that the digital billboard is less expensive than the one that was dismantled and repeated the advertisement numerous times.

She wrote, “A Digital Billboard is so much cheaper than one that an obviously misguided regulator demolished.

“So here’s my message to our Nigerian Judiciary that constitutionally owes citizens absolute judicial independence, transparency and integrity:

#AllEyesOnTheJudiciary.”
