The Cross River State House of Assembly has suspended Hon. Dickson Ovat Agbor, the lawmaker representing Obubra I State Constituency, indefinitely over alleged violent conduct.
The decision was taken during plenary following a motion moved by Rt. Hon. Davies Etta and seconded by Rt. Hon. Francis Bassey Asuquo.
In the motion, the Assembly condemned the alleged violent behaviour involving Agbor, describing it as conduct unbecoming of a legislator and inconsistent with the ethical standards expected of members of the legislative arm of government.
After deliberations, the House resolved that Agbor be placed on indefinite suspension from all legislative activities pending further developments.
The lawmaker has recently been at the centre of intense public criticism following allegations of domestic violence involving his spouse. However, his wife has reportedly denied the claims.
