Courtrooms Reassigned as Lagos CJ Alogba Reshuffles Judges

The Chief Judge of Lagos State, Hon. Justice Kazeem Olanrewaju Alogba, has approved a new allocation of courts and chambers within the Lagos Judicial Division, directing the relocation of several Judges as part of ongoing judicial administrative reforms.

Under the directive, Judges currently sitting in the Lagos Criminal Division at the TBS Complex, including Justices Y.A. Adesanya, I.O. Harrison, S.I. Sonaike, and A.T. Muyideen, are to move to the JIC Taylor Courthouse in Igbosere.

Similarly, Justices A.A. Oyebanji, K.O. Dawodu, O.O. Ogungbesan, E.I. Alakija, and O.O. Ogunjobi, also sitting at the TBS Complex, have been reassigned to the same courthouse.

The directive stipulates that Judges relocating to the JIC Taylor Courthouse must select their courts and chambers strictly in line with judicial order of precedence.

Further reassignments were approved at the Osborne Foreshore Complex. Justice A.O. Opesanwo will occupy the former court and chambers of Justice O.O. Pedro, while Justice A.A. George will take over the chambers previously used by Justice L.A. Okunnu. Justice O.O. Ojuromi has been reassigned to the former court and chambers of Justice R.O. Olukolu.

Judges have been instructed to move only their personal belongings and books, while judiciary‑owned furniture, fittings, and equipment are to remain in place pending inventory checks by designated officers. Relocation allowances are to be collected from the Office of the Chief Registrar.

The movement is scheduled to commence on Friday, 30 January 2026, and conclude by Friday, 6 February 2026, after which Judges must hand over keys to their former chambers. This reallocation forms part of broader measures aimed at enhancing efficiency, organisation, and effective judicial administration within the Lagos State Judiciary.
