Court Ruling: Delta PDP Governorship Candidate Calls For Calm Over Disqualification

The Governorship candidate of the people’s Democratic Party PDP in Delta state Sheriff Oborewori has called for calm from his supporters across the state and country over his disqualification by the Federal High Court in Abuja.

In a statement made available to news men by his Chief Press Secretary Dennis Otu, the PDP candidate who is the speaker of the state house of assembly said he has engaged his legal team to critically study the ruling and explore grounds on which it will approach the court of appeal.

He stressed that there is no cause for alarm, as the party is confident of getting a favourable judgement in the appellate court.

The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja under the ruling of justice Taiwo Taiwo today disqualified the Delta PDP candidate, saying the petitioner who came second during the party primary David Edevbie proved that there were discrepancies in his certificate.
