Idris Mohammed, the state commissioner for works, housing, and transportation, is being tried for criminal conspiracy, trespassing, and mischief in a case brought by one Engineer Idris Aliyu Bori and another, and the Senior Magistrate Court at Uke, in the Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, has issued a bench warrant for his arrest and remand at the Correctional Centre, Keffi.

The Commissioner is accused alongside five others of trespassing into the land of the complainants, causing mischief and intimidating them.

Following the absence of the Commissioner in Court, counsel for the complainant, Eunice Emmanuel Esq, pleaded that the bail earlier granted to him be revoked and an arrest warrant be issued against him as well as a criminal summons to the surety to show cause why he should not forfeit the bail bond.

The presiding Magistrate Aisha Abdullahi in her ruling granted the request of the complainants’ counsel and ordered for the immediate arrest of the Commissioner.

The case was adjourned to November 19, 2022.
