The Court of Appeal, Ibadan Division, yesterday, 14th July, 2026 delivered a judgment nullifying the proceedings of the Oyo State High Court in Suit No. I/221/2026, holding that the lower court lacked the jurisdiction to entertain the action challenging the 2026 Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) National Officers’ Election.
In a unanimous decision delivered by Justice Fadawu Umaru, with Justices Kenneth Ikechukwu Amadi and Fatima Binta Zubairu concurring, the appellate court allowed the appeal and declared all proceedings conducted by the Oyo State High Court, including its ruling and interim orders of injunction made on March 4, 2026, null and void.
