Justice Emeka Nwite of the Federal High Court has rejected the bail. Application filed on behalf of five Suspects arrested in connection with the June 5, 2022 attack at St. Francis Catholic Church, Owo, Ondo State, in which over 40 worshippers died.
The Court has adjourned ruling on the bail application filed on behalf of the suspects till today. Ruling on the application, justice Nwite rejected the request on the ground of the gravity of the offence allegedly committed by the suspects, interest of Justice and believe that the suspects might jump bail.
He restated the readiness of the Court to ensure accelerated trail of the matter and ensure that Justice is served.The matter has been adjourned to October 16th for continuation of trial.
