The case between former Governor of Kaduna State, Nasiru Ahmad El-Rufai and the Kaduna State House of Assembly has been adjourned for hearing by a Federal High Court sitting in Kaduna on Thursday.
Recall that after the Kaduna House Committee submitted a report which indicted El-Rufai of a multi-million Naira fraud and corruption during his tenure, the former Governor went to court challenging the House committee’s report.
However, at the hearing of the case, Counsel to the first respondent, the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Femi Falana, SAN, informed the court that the report is that of a committee while challenging the court’s jurisdiction to hear the case.
The plea was also advanced by the Commissioner of Justice and Attorney General of Kaduna State, Sule Shau’ibu, SAN, who is a defendant in the case.
However, Counsel to the applicant where not in court. The presiding judge, Justice R.M Aikawa, adjourned the case for hearing.
