The Coalition of Energy Reforms Lawyers and Activists (CERLA) has accused the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) of undermining private efforts towards resolving the crisis in the Oil and Gas Sector of the Economy. It also accused the Company of frustrating the Dangote Refinery’s efforts in addressing Nigeria’s energy crisis.
CERLA claimed that NNPCL spread false information about Dangote Refinery’s pricing, saying they sold PMS at N868 per liter, to frustrate their operations and perpetuate fuel subsidy scams
The spokesperson of the Coalition, Okwa Dan at a press conference in Abuja, said NNPCL’s actions are part of a larger regime of corruption targeting local refineries.
He accused NNPCL’s lack of transparency and accountability in crude oil management, preferring to import substandard PMS from abroad, which benefits only a select few.
