The branch Chairman of the Ikot Ekpene branch of the NBA, Mr Ukpong George Okodi, has appreciated all those who visited the branch members who were involved in a motor accident.
During a telephone interview with Lawhauz Correspondent, the branch chairman narrated that the members were returning from the Annual General Conference and that the driver lost control of the vehicle and ran into the bush somewhere in Enugu.
In his words: The vehicle somersaulted and people were injured but nobody died. Those injured were rushed to the National Orthopedic Hospital, Enugu where they are being treated. Three members and the driver who had slight injuries were treated and discharged. The other three members – the Secretary, Treasurer and Publicity Secretary were seriously injured and had broken bones and are still undergoing several stages of treatment because of their critical conditions.
Mr Okodi noted that they were still expecting support from the national body of the NBA but that NBA branches (especially those in Enugu) and individual members of the NBA including EBF Secretary, Tobenna Erojikwe, and others visited and supported financially.
He appreciated all the donors and called for more support for the three members who are in critical health conditions.
