The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has revealed that it is investigating a cybersecurity breach involving unauthorized access to parts of its information systems.
In a public notice released on Wednesday, the commission explained that the incident affected only limited areas of its digital infrastructure. Immediate actions were taken to contain the situation and prevent further disruption.
According to the CAC, response protocols were swiftly activated, and the agency is collaborating with the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), as well as other relevant government bodies and partners, to determine the full scope and impact of the breach.
The commission confirmed that containment measures have already been implemented, along with additional safeguards to strengthen the security of its systems.
Stakeholders were advised to remain cautious during the ongoing review. The CAC encouraged users to regularly monitor their records on its portal, update their login credentials, and stay alert to any suspicious or unsolicited communications that may arise from the incident.
Despite the breach, the commission reassured the public of its commitment to protecting Nigeria’s corporate registry and maintaining system integrity. It also promised to provide further updates as more information becomes available.
