CAC Postpones Implementation of New Portal Fees to Sept 1 Amid Technical Challenges

The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has announced a deferment of the enforcement date for newly introduced fees and penalties on its upgraded registration portal, shifting the commencement from August 1 to September 1, 2025.

The postponement was disclosed in a public notice issued by the Commission on Monday, citing transitional difficulties currently being experienced by users navigating the new platform.

According to report, the delayed policy was set to introduce charges for documents not downloaded within seven days of approval, a move that drew concern from businesses and stakeholders.

The Commission explained that users have reported several challenges since the launch of the Artificial Intelligence-powered portal, including issues with document downloads, payment processing failures, complications in post-incorporation filings for business names, and difficulties in uploading required documents.

“We are working tirelessly, alongside our technical partners and stakeholders, to stabilise the system without shutting down the entire portal,” the CAC said in its statement.
