The Presidency has clarified President Bola Tinubu’s recent cabinet reshuffle, emphasizing that ministers were “discharged” rather than “sacked.” Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, made this distinction while addressing reporters.
According to Onanuga, the term “sacked” inaccurately describes the departure of the ministers. He stated, “Ministers were not sacked; they were discharged.”
Tinubu’s cabinet reshuffle, which was announced on Wednesday, involved the departure of seven ministers and the appointment of seven new ones.
Among those affected by the reshuffle were Uju-Ken Ohanenye (Women Affairs), Lola Ade-John (Tourism), Tahir Mamman (Education), Abdullahi Gwarzo (Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development), and Jamila Ibrahim (Youth Development).
