The All Progressives Congress (APC) South East Zone has taken a firm stance by reporting Hon. Justice C. V. C. Ezeugwu of the Enugu State High Court to the National Judicial Council (NJC).
This action follows the judge’s issuance of an ex parte order, which temporarily bars the Enugu State Chairman of the party, Barr. Ugochukwu Agballah, and ten other officials from performing their duties as officers of the party. The order, which stemmed from a motion ex parte filed by other members of the APC, has sparked significant controversy within the party.
The APC South East Zone has strongly criticized the order, describing it as an unjustified intrusion into the party’s internal affairs. The leadership is particularly concerned about the potential consequences of such a ruling, arguing that it threatens the legitimacy and authority of the party’s elected officials. In response, the APC South East Zone has vowed to rigorously challenge the order, emphasizing their commitment to defending their officials’ roles and ensuring that the party’s leadership remains intact.
By bringing the matter to the attention of the NJC, the APC South East Zone aims to hold Justice Ezeugwu accountable, raising questions about the legitimacy and fairness of the ex parte order. This move highlights the party’s dedication to maintaining its leadership structure and ensuring that any legal disputes are resolved transparently and justly, in accordance with judicial standards.
The statement read, “To this end, we have already initiated communications with the Learned Chief Magistrate and court staff mentioned.”
