Body of Benchers to Induct 15 New Members in Abuja Ceremony

The Body of Benchers Nigeria will induct 15 new members today, February 27, 2025, during a special ceremony at the Body of Benchers Complex, located at 12 Y.C. Maikyau Crescent, Institution and Research District, Abuja-FCT.

Starting at 10:00 AM, the event will also see the confirmation of new life benchers, bringing the total number of life benchers in Nigeria to 170. The ceremony will formally welcome the new inductees into the prestigious body, with official instruments of appointment being issued to them during the event.

In a statement, Daniel M. Tela, Esq., the Secretary of the Body of Benchers, shared details of the ceremony and emphasized that the dress code for attendees is formal attire, including a suit and tie.

The Body of Benchers is the highest regulatory authority for the legal profession in Nigeria. It plays a crucial role in the admission and regulation of legal practitioners, ensuring high professional standards and ethical conduct within the legal community.
