Barrister Adejo Okeme Wins Labour Party’s Kogi Governorship Ticket

Barrister Adejo Okeme, a legal practitioner and well-known businessman, has secured the Labour party’s governorship nomination for the Kogi election.

At the primary held on Saturday in Lokoja, the state capital, Barrister Okeme pulled 127 more votes than his nearest competitor, AVM Isaac Alfa, who received 69. Barrister Okeme is a senator from the Kogi East district.

If granted the chance to become the state’s governor on January 27, 2024, Barrister Okeme informed journalists before the election even started that he would put fighting unemployment and fast salary payment at the top of his priority projects list.

Okeme also said that his administration would not joke with the issue of security without which no business can thrive anywhere.

“I am a businessman and I know fully well that you need a conducive atmosphere for business to thrive and therefore, I will not joke with the issue of security.”
