AWLA Nigeria Parley 2024: Meet Our Speaker, Abimo Toyosi Olayiwola

Abimo Toyosi Olayiwola is the Principal Partner of ABILEGAL Barristers & Solicitors and founder of Digital Lawyers’ Network, a community of about four thousand digitally savvy
lawyers across the world. She is a business lawyer and a digital law practice consultant who helps lawyers leverage the internet and social media to build profitable legal practices.

As a digital lawyer with passion for delivering legal services through cutting-edge technology, she coaches lawyers, some of whom are senior lawyers and highly respected Professors of law, on the necessary skills to run a profitable digital law practice. Her passion has driven her to speak at various gatherings of legal practitioners on the need to embrace digital technology in delivering legal services and to leverage the internet and social media to build profitable legal practices. She also consults for law firms about online reputation management and digital lawpractice.

In recognition of her depth as a technologically-driven lawyer, her mentor, Mrs. Funmi Roberts (Funmi Roberts & Co.), the pioneer of CADRI initiative, invited her on board of the steering committee of CADRI an online Alternative Dispute Resolution platform that seeks to resolve Covid-19 related commercial and contractual disputes in conjunction with the Oyo State Multi-Door CourtHouse; The Lagos Chamber of Commerce International Arbitration Centre; and International Centre for Arbitration and Mediation Abuja.

As a fledgling lawyer, she cut her teeth at R. A. Ogunwole SAN where she gained profound litigation experience. Moving thereafter to Prime Solicitors, a digitalised law firm where her soliciting expertise was honed and her passion for digital law practice was ignited. Immediately before starting up ABILEGAL Barristers and Solicitors, she worked at Olaniyan & Olaniyan where she rose to become the Head of Chambers.

Abimo holds a Bachelor of Law degree (LL.B) from North American University, Benin where she graduated as the youngest in her class and she also attended the Nigerian Law School, Abuja Campus where she graduated at the age of twenty-one. She holds a Master of Law degree (LLM) from the University of Ibadan and she is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association. In the bid to gain a better grasp of her line of practice, she has gained due certifications in online mediation, website designing, digital marketing, and graphics designing.

Her contributions to legal practice have been highly recognised in the Nigerian Legal industry,
making her a recipient of various awards:
