Human Rights Activist Deji Adeyanju has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to meet with the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) to find a solution to the ongoing strike.
Adeyanju in a post on Facebook decried the state of tertiary universities in Nigeria which he called ‘deplorable’, urging the President to give the union what it needs with the assurance that they will listen to him.
“The president should meet ASUU himself and resolve the ongoing strike. They will listen to him and he should give them all they need to effectively run our universities. The state of our tertiary institutions is deplorable,” Adeyanju wrote.
President Buhari had earlier in the month appealed to ASUU to consider the pain of Nigerian students and call off the strike.
