Army GOC Attributes Oil Theft Reduction to Professionalism

Professionalism and competence of officers and men of the 6 division Nigerian Army has been one of the major reasons in the fight against crude oil theft and other forms of criminality in the Niger Delta region.

These were the words of the General Officer Commanding 6 division Nigerian Army Major General Jamal Abdulsalam, while speaking at the Joint West African Social Activities WASA, held at the 3 battalion Nigerian Army Effurun Delta state.

Addressing officers and men, as well as invited guests from all walks of life, the GOC said the reduction in oil theft and relative peace in the Niger Delta is as a result of the professionalism of officers and men.

On his part, the commander 63 Brigade Nigerian Army Brigadier General Vitus Onachukwu stressed on the history of WASA celebration.

Meanwhile, the deputy governor of Delta state Sir Monday Onyeme who also graced the occasion, lauded the rich cultural display from the different ethnic groups with a bonfire to climax the activities.
