The Commissioner of Police, Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command, CP Ajao S. Adewale, has ordered a discreet and comprehensive investigation into the circumstances surrounding the killing Ms. Somtochukwu Christelle Maduagwu, a News Anchor, Reporter, and Producer with Arise News Channel,

Maduagwu, was killed during an armed robbery at her residence in Katampe, Abuja, in the early hours of Monday, September 29th, 2025. In a statement issued in Abuja by SP Josephine Adeh, Police Public Relations Officer, FCT Command described the incident as a cruel and senseless act that has no place in a sane society.

The CP assured that the Command is fully committed to ensuring justice is served. He expressed deep condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of Ms. Somtochukwu Christelle Maduagwu. The FCT Police Command extended its sympathies to the bereaved family and the media community, pledging that all efforts will be made to bring the perpetrators to justice

He added that comprehensive intelligence and operational assets have been deployed to track down those responsible. While reaffirming the Command’s commitment to public safety, Adewale urged residents to support ongoing investigations with timely and useful information. He further advised FCT residents to raise immediate alarms in suspicious situations to frustrate the activities of criminal elements.
