A California class-action lawsuit has been launched against Apple for over the distribution of sexual content for children on iCloud.
The New York Times claimed in a report that Apple is making victims relive their agony by failing to take greater action to stop the distribution of harmful content.
According to the lawsuit, Apple failed to implement designs or take any measures to detect and limit sexual information after introducing “a widely touted improved design aimed at protecting children.
Victims of child sexual abuse are entitled to at least $150,000 in damages under the United States law, which may result in a total payment of more than $1.2 billion in cash.
The victims are claiming that the corporation abandoned a 2021 system they designed to identify offensive content, and they are demanding more than $1.2 billion in damages.
