Appeal Court Grants 2 Nigerians Permission To Vote With Temporary Voter’s Card

In the matter of INEC v. Kofoworola & Anor (Appeal No: CA/ABJ/CV/364/2023), the Court of Appeal issued a significant decision, on Friday, July 28, 2023.

The question at hand was whether registered voters may vote during elections using their Temporary Voter Cards (TVCs) rather than their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).

Prior to this, in March 2023, the Federal High Court issued a decision authorizing the use of Temporary Voter Cards rather than Permanent Voter Cards for voting.

However, this judgement was disputed and appealed against by INEC (Independent National Electoral Commission).
