The Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria (APCON) has sternly warned political aspirants vying for positions in the 2023 general elections.
APCON said this via a press briefing on Monday and warned that the advertorial law will sanction any unlicensed campaign advert.
Briefing journalists on Monday, May 23, 2022, at a press briefing held at Sheraton Hotel, Ikeja Lagos, APCON Registrar/Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Olalekan Fadolapo said: “With the electioneering season at hand, elective political office aspirants are also implored to ensure that their political advertisements are vetted and approved by the ASP before exposure on any medium.
“This will diminish the repugnant influence of hate speech and unethical political communication in the country.”
