ADC Has No Preferred Presidential Candidate for 2027, Says David Mark

The Interim National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), David Mark, has declared that the newly formed opposition coalition has no preferred presidential aspirant for the 2027 general elections. Speaking at a stakeholders’ meeting of the Kogi chapter of the ADC in Abuja on Tuesday, the former Senate President emphasized the party’s commitment to transparency and unity.

Mark assured Nigerians that the ADC is focused on building a platform that is “attractive and acceptable to the majority of Nigerians.” He stressed the urgency of collective action to prevent the nation from further decline, stating, “We do not want this great ship called Nigeria to sink, because if we do not rise up now, all of us will be affected.”

The former military governor of Niger State described all ADC members as “equal stakeholders, equal joiners, and equal owners,” urging them to set aside differences and work as a united front. He also called on politicians to refrain from personal attacks and instead focus on addressing critical national issues, such as insecurity, which the ADC has pledged to tackle if elected to power.

The ADC’s inclusive approach and commitment to transparency signal its intent to position itself as a formidable alternative in the 2027 elections, as the party continues to build its structure nationwide.
