The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has unveiled an insightful session for its 2025 Annual General Conference (AGC), themed “Stand Out, Stand Tall”. Scheduled for Monday, August 25, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., the session, titled “Nigerian Bar Association: A Peep into the Future”, will bring together eminent legal minds to reflect on the future trajectory of the Association and the profession at large. The discourse will examine critical reforms, technological integration, and the evolving role of the NBA in a fast-changing legal and socio-political landscape.

Moderated by seasoned governance expert Udo Jude Ilo, the panel boasts a diverse lineup of distinguished speakers. Among them are Aare Olumuyiwa Akinboro, SAN; Lateef Omoyemi Akangbe, SAN; and Oyinkansola Badejo-Okusanya FCIArb, each bringing a wealth of experience from advocacy, policy, and professional leadership. Their insights are expected to offer a blend of forward-thinking strategies and pragmatic solutions for the challenges facing the Bar.

Also gracing the panel are Prof. Foluke Dada, an academic luminary; John Aikpokpo Martins, a prominent voice in legal development; and Mandy Asagba, known for her progressive advocacy within the legal community. This session forms part of the NBA AGC’s wider mission to inspire members to “stand out” in their professional practice and “stand tall” in defending the rule of law. As Nigeria navigates political, economic, and social transitions, the conversation will explore how the NBA can remain a vanguard for justice, safeguard its independence, and better serve both its members and the society at large.

Delegates attending the conference can expect a high-level exchange of ideas aimed at charting a progressive path for the Association. The session promises not only to be intellectually stimulating but also to provide actionable recommendations that could influence NBA policies, programs, and member engagement strategies for years to come.
