Nigeria At 64: Former Lawmaker Urges Nigerians Not To Lose Hope

Senator Stella Oduah expressed optimism about Nigeria’s future, despite the nation’s current challenges, in a statement ahead of the country’s 64th Independence Day Anniversary on Tuesday, October 1st.

The former lawmaker, who represented Anambra North in the 9th Assembly, encouraged Nigerians to remain hopeful and patriotic, assuring them that the policies of President Bola Tinubu’s administration will soon begin to yield positive results.

Oduah highlighted that despite the current hardships, there are reasons to celebrate, particularly the uninterrupted democratic governance since 1999. She also pointed to ongoing reforms in the oil and gas sector, noting that these changes would enhance competitiveness and eventually lead to more affordable petroleum products, especially petrol, for Nigerians.

Her statement read partly; “As we commemorate our 64 years of Nationhood, it is no doubt that as a Nation we are confronted with economic challenges , however I urge us all to remain resolute and united as Nation.”

“Our independence has afforded us the opportunity to aspire to greatness as a Nation in our own values and culture without any interference.”

“For our Nation to succeed all citizens regardless of social strata must support the government policies and also engage in constructive criticisms where deemed necessary.”

“I salute and congratulate all Nigerians as we continue to remain a force to be reckoned with in the globe.”
