COLUMBUS, Ohio – In 2019, the American Civil Liberties Union and a group of voting-rights advocates successfully used the federal court system to get Ohio’s congressional map thrown out – at least temporarily – as an illegal gerrymander in favor of Republicans.
But with a lone exception, the legal battle during Ohio’s ongoing redistricting season has been waged in state courts.
