Gov Yusuf Cautions Judges Against Indiscriminate Release of Criminals in Kano

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has issued a stern warning to judges against the unwarranted release of thugs arrested for violence, emphasizing that such actions contribute to the escalation of crime and criminality in the state. During the 15th weekly meeting of the Kano State Executive Council held at the Government House on Saturday, Governor Yusuf stressed the importance of prompt and fair dispensation of justice, rather than prematurely releasing criminals, which he believes poses a significant threat to the wellbeing of the state’s residents.

Governor Yusuf also directed security agencies to intensify their efforts to eradicate thuggery and other criminal activities that disrupt the peace in specific areas of the Kano metropolis. He expressed his disapproval of the recent increase in thuggery and clashes involving Yan Daba, asserting that the government will not tolerate any actions that jeopardize the tranquillity and harmony enjoyed by law-abiding citizens.

The governor affirmed the state government’s commitment to collaborating closely with relevant security agencies to ensure the safety and security of the populace and their properties. He emphasized that the government is determined to maintain the peace and protect the residents from the adverse effects of criminal activities.
