The Department of State Services (DSS) is said to have detained Kingsley Obiora, the Central Bank of Nigeria’s deputy governor.
His arrest followed claims of financial misconduct by suspended CBN governor Godwin Emefiele, according to a Business Day newspaper.
Obiora is the deputy governor in charge of economic policy at the top bank.
His arrest follows an ongoing investigation into CBN, which is run by Godwin Emefiele.
Since June 10, 2023, when President Bola Tinubu ousted him from office, Emefiele has been under the DSS’s care.
Jim Obazee was appointed by Tinubu as a special investigator in July to oversee the investigation into the actions of the apex bank under Emefiele.
