The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has asked the Presidential Election Petition Court to change the decisions granting Peter Obi and Atiku Abubakar permission to inspect documents used in the presidential election.
The election results are being challenged by the presidential candidates of the Labour Party and the Peoples Democratic Party.
Obi and Atiku filed two separate ex parte cases, and the court gave them permission to inspect INEC materials used in the election in their search for redress.
According to recent reports, the electoral body asked the court to change the injunction that barred it from interfering with election materials in a move on notice submitted on March 4.
According to the commission, there is a need to reconfigure the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) for the next round of elections.
INEC is the sole party in the application of the electoral umpire filed at the court.
On Monday, Atiku led his party members in a demonstration at INEC headquarters to express his dissatisfaction with the election results and his determination to ensure that he is still in the fight against the electoral body.
