The Kano PDP gubernatorial election will be decided on December 22, 2022, according to a Federal High Court sitting in Kano.

Muhammad Sani Abacha, the son of the former head of state and the PDP’s initial proclaimed candidate for governor, filed the lawsuit disputing the validity of Sadiq Aminu Wali.

Abdullahi Muhd Liman, the judge, had already scheduled Monday (yesterday) for the delivery of his decision on the matter.

Despite not providing a justification for the postponement, he nevertheless set a new date for the judgment.

He, however, fixed a new date for the judgement, though no reason was given for the postponement.

In May, the factional PDP declared Abacha the gubernatorial candidate on the same day the Sadiq Wali faction held a separate election.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had earlier validated the election saying primaries were legally conducted with validly-elected delegates and supervised by the electoral body, the police and State Security Service operatives.

Later, however, Sadiq Wali’s name appeared as the guber candidate on INEC’s platform.
