On Thursday, the Osun State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal in Osogbo postponed further proceedings until November 16, 2022 as the plaintiff, Governor Adegboyega Oyetola, submitted further documents for review.
Dr. Saka Layoonu, SAN, the petitioner’s counsel, presented the panel with election results from three more local government areas in the state on Thursday along with a Certified True Copy of the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System report of the election.
Addressing the panel, Layoonu, presented the election results of wards in Olorunda, Obokun and Ila local government areas, and some certificates obtained by the PDP candidate, Senator Ademola Adeleke.
He also said the documents before the court had been checked by the counsel for the respondents.
Counsel for the 1st respondent, the Independent National Electoral Commission, Mr. Jamiu Olabode, Mr. Niyi Owolade, who represented Adeleke, the 2nd respondent, and Mr. Nathaniel Oke, SAN, representing the PDP, the 3rd respondent in the matter, all objected the documents brought by the plaintiffs.
They however reserved argument on the objection till when final written addresses would be presented by the parties.
After the documents have been marked, the panel admitted them as exhibits before it and the chairman of the Tribunal, Justice Tersea Kume, adjourned proceedings to Wednesday, November 16.
