The distinguished jurist and retired Justice of the Court of Appeal, Hon. Justice Oludotun Adebola Adefope-Okojie, will join the panel at the 18th SPA Ajibade & Co. Annual Business Luncheon, holding on Thursday, December 11, 2025, by 11:00 a.m. at the Metropolitan Club, Victoria Island.
Registration will start soon.
This year’s theme — “Rebuilding Public Trust in the Nigerian Justice System: Responsibilities of the Bar, the Bench, and the Society”, provides a fitting platform for Justice Adefope-Okojie, a respected voice in Nigeria’s judiciary, to share insights drawn from her decades of service on the Bench and her contributions to legal scholarship.
Justice Adefope-Okojie obtained her LL.B from the University of Lagos in 1975 and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1976. She later earned a Master of Laws degree from the University of London. Her career began at the Ministry of Justice, Plateau State, where she served as State Counsel before joining the Chambers of Gally Brown-Peterside, SAN. In 1983, she established Adefope & Co. in Jos, where she practiced actively in litigation and corporate law until her appointment as a Judge of the High Court of Lagos State in 1996.
She served with distinction across various divisions of the Lagos State High Court before her elevation to the Court of Appeal in March 2014, where she sat at the Kaduna and Owerri Divisions until her retirement in May 2023.
A seasoned arbitrator and governance expert, Justice Adefope-Okojie is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (UK), a Member of the International Dispute Resolution Institute (IDRI), the Chartered Institute of Directors (CIoD), and the Independent Judicial Accountability Panel (IJAP) of ActionAid Nigeria, supported by the Ford Foundation.
She is also a published author of the widely acclaimed “Civil Litigation: A Quick Reference Guide to Substantive Law and Procedure”, now in its 4th Edition (2025). The latest edition was unveiled at the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre, Abuja, with an eminent roll call that included Amina Augie, JSC (Rtd), CFR (Chair), Professor Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, GCON, Khalifa Muhammad Sanusi II, Dr. Sonny Folorunso Kuku, and The Most Rev’d Dr. Timothy Yahaya, Archbishop of Kaduna Province.
Her participation as a panelist at this year’s Luncheon reaffirms SPA Ajibade & Co.’s commitment to convening thought leaders who continue to shape and strengthen Nigeria’s justice architecture.
